So there I was, sat on the sofa, musing the news feeds of various social media, whilst watching the news which was fulfilling its obligatory evening coverage on Nigel Farage, when I asked, why doesn’t anyone vote Green?
“The economy is a human construct, not a force of nature like gravity, or the speed of light or our biological makeup. It makes no sense to elevate the economy above the things that keep us alive – the very ecosystem services that sustain the health and well being of our communities.”
Dr. David Suzuki
“As human beings, we are vulnerable to confusing the unprecedented with the improbable. In our everyday experience, if something has never happened before, we are generally safe in assuming it is not going to happen in the future, but the exceptions can kill you and climate change is one of those exceptions.”
So here we are… Stood in the very sobering shadow of the latest IPCC report, which concluded to the highest degree of certainty thus far, that recent changes to global climate can be attributed to human activities, and that change must occur in order to prevent the collapse of our civilisation.
But, has anybody witnessed any meaningful change being conducted? Nope, me neither.
